Asked about the role of United Nation to halt the Turkey and Iran’s military operations against Kurds, UN’s Under Secretary-General Special Adviser Fabrizio Hochschild told me that UN’s role in the political perspective is complicated.
I told him Kurdish him Kurdish opposition groups in Turkey and Iran aren’t TRRORISTS. They fight for basic rights of Kurds but these regimes want to criminalize Kurdish struggle.
I insisted that UN is not a body for protecting States but for nations. Kurds need protection as a non-state ethnic in the hostile region of Middle East. He said when it comes to political action, UN is complicated & “I share your view that that is the area we need to improve”.
